It is Day 3 of band camp. It is a rainy Sunday afternoon. Day 3 is traditionally the day when energy levels ebb. (By Day 4, the levels rebound a little bit because rest becomes irresistible on Day 3.) Sunday afternoons are good for naps. (Rainy weather is a bonus.) I am sitting in a big, soft chair, and sipping something warm.

Unfortunately, it is more milky and chocolate-y than it is caffeinated.

Is it quite so difficult to imagine, to see, how now is not quite the ideal time to consider the extreme psychological complexity of the narrator? Is it really so hard?

(No, of course not, Sophie.)
