Fried Calamari with Asahi Super Dry

What I felt after each of the rifles under my charge were dried and oiled, after there was no chance for me to rush back on a transport for photos, after my recruits of 02/10 were certifiably off the landmass I was occupying: a sense of liberation.

To clarify, the recruits themselves aren’t the burden, but at the end of the day, whether they see it or not, every care and item left to chase down on the list is justified by their training or welfare, and at the end of this batch, this was something I was more able to appreciate than before.

I’m at a finish line of sorts, I suppose.

For now I get to celebrate for an hour or two, at least, knowing that I go straight back to work after (another sleepless night), but able to feel happy nonetheless. I’ve said most of the affirmative words I’ve had to say before this, and I end as I am.
